WINE REGION
Hunter Valley
Country Australia

The Hunter Valley is the oldest wine region and the birthplace of the Australian wine located in the New South Wales, where James Busby has planted the pre-phylloxera French wines for the first time in 1825. It is a land of white wine grape varieties such as the Sémillon which has put the Hunter Valley on the world wine stage famous for the complexity and the longevity it has. The Chardonnay is as well on the prominent varietals, especially the oaked versions of it, the Verdelho is one of the experimental grapes which is gaining popularity and the national pride grape the Shiraz is as well present with notable expressions in the good vintages. The Hunter Valley has a relatively hot and quite humid climate with numerous rainy day which are cooling down probably the oldest vines in the country.
